Happy queensday,

Today I did a litlle thrifting and found
a flower apron and a postcard from 1945

Apron, card and bookmark

This card fits precisely in this time of year.
Tomorrow is Queensday,
and may 5 is liberationday.
The day we celebrate the end of world war 2.

Vintage postcard
(And how importend it is to have freedom of thought and opinion.)

And I found these stitchery's. I love the litlle bookmark.

Thrifting
Now I'm of preparing for tomorrow.
So to you all happy,

Groetjes Heleen

That postcard, and the comments about Liberation Day, touch my heart deeply!! My dad served in the US Navy in World War II, and my uncle was a US Marine. I've always been so proud of them, and agree completely about the importance of thought and expression.

Happy Queen's Day to you both!

Congratulations!

My great uncle was a Canadian soldier in Holland's liberation. He had good memories of the people there right up until he died. My father-in-law was a little boy and he still remembers it clearly.

Happy Queensday to you all!

I still remember arriving at the Amsterdam train station on Queensday back in 1982. Until then, I'd not known about this holiday, but quickly realized it was no ordinary day!

Best wishes.
