Just a few more nights and it is Sinterklaas feest!
This time of year is busy but gives a warm cozy feeling, gezellig!
In our classroom we always make a nice fireplace we sing songs
and
we made shoes to put by the fireplace so Sinterklaas
can put some candy and pepernoten in the them.

Of course we also made Pieten (Sinterklaas assistent).
four, five and six year old are great to celebrate Sinterklaas with!

I just love these portraits!

I just love those Modigliani-ish portraits too - absolutely amazing!

My family and my husband's family are from Dutch immigrants to Michigan in the USA in the 1840's. I love reading your descriptions of Sinterklaas projects! I hope to have my own children do some of them to learn about their Dutch heritage better. My klompen are by the front door, waiting for some straw and carrots. :) Thanks!

Wat een heerlijk feest is het Sinterklaasfeest toch! Het doet me goed dat jullie nog precies dezelfde schoentjes maken als ik destijds (ik durf het nauwelijks te zeggen dat dat al meer dan 40 jaar geleden is).
De portretten a la Modigliani vind ik prachtig! Wat een heerlijk kleurgebruik en wat een schitterende tekeningen, geef mijn complimenten alsjeblieft door aan de artiesten. Bravo!
